The core curriculum and the Entrepreneurship (CCE)

1. The courses constituting the core curriculum (8 ECTS) for a given discipline may be chosen as the elective courses by the doctoral candidates from other disciplines.

2. Compulsory classes - Entrepreneurship (1 ECTS).

The Individual Research Plan:

The IRP consists of:

- the schedule for the preparation of the doctoral dissertation with the indication of the date of submitting the doctoral dissertation,

- the description of the research to be carried out (together with the methodology),

- the research data management plan,

- the research & skills workshop (the elective courses and soft & transferable skills courses), visiting professors lectures, mobility and, optionally, the teaching practice.

Research & skills workshop (classes to be realized until the end of the 3rd year of training). Research workshop. The elective courses from all disciplines (4 ECTS in total). It is recommended to choose courses from other disciplines than the leading one, to ensure the maximum interdisciplinarity of training. The list of the elective courses is available here.

Skills workshop. The classes and workshops on soft and transferable skills (45 hours in total). The list of the soft and transferable skills courses is available here.

The lectures of visiting professors. The doctoral candidate, in consultation with a supervisor or supervisors and auxiliary supervisors, selects at least one of the “visiting professor’s lectures”, to be completed by the end of the 3rd year of training in IDS TUL.

The teaching course and practice. The doctoral candidate may complete a teaching practice within doctoral training at IDS TUL. In consultation with a supervisor, supervisors or a supervisor and auxiliary supervisor, he/she agrees on the terms of completing the practice by teaching and co-teaching classes, to the extent not exceeding 60 teaching hours per academic year, organised in the third year of the training. A preparatory course of at least 15 hours is a mandatory part of the practice. The teaching practice may be completed at another research institution, including a foreign one.

Mobility. The doctoral candidate takes part in a mobility during doctoral training at IDS TUL. In consultation with a supervisor or supervisors or a supervisor and auxiliary supervisor, he/she draws up a mobility protocol specifying, among other things, the intended duration of the doctoral candidate’s mobility of at least 3 months during the doctoral training at IDS TUL, its plan, and other related arrangements.

Seminars. The doctoral candidate attends seminars where he/she presents his/her results at least once a semester. Seminars are provided at the unit where the doctoral thesis is prepared – at least one seminar per semester.
