Scholarship offer for PhD student in the NCN MAESTRO project "Nanomaterials with precisely tailored architecture – design, synthesis, properties”

Application Deadline: April 16, 2021.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (chemistry, physics, material science, biology or related fields)
  • Great motivation for academic work, teamwork, independence, creativity.
  • Good English.
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry, molecular physics and organic electronics
  • Experiences in working with organic materials (dielectrics and semiconductors)
  • Scientific achievements in form of publications in international scientific journals and conference communications are also welcomed (not obligatory).
  • The call is open also for already enrolled PhD students, who would like to complete their thesis by research performed in frame of this project.

Task description:
Work in the NCN MAESTRO 6 project: ""Nanomaterials with precisely tailored architecture – design, synthesis, properties ". The specific aim of the proposed study is to develop new dielectrics based on polymer nanocomposites made of commercial polymers, like PMMA, and new nanoparticles synthesized in frame of the project.

As part of the project, will be to manufacture of organic field effect transistors with layers of new dielectrics and to study their DC properties as a function of temperature. The PhD student is also required to modernize and adapt the existing instrument to test the thin-film transistors.
PhD student will be also obliged to prepare monthly reports and scientific publications based on the results of the conducted research. PhD student will be involved in the project on average 35 hours per week.

Additional information:
