General information on the Rector's scholarship for students of Lodz University of Technology

The Rector's scholarship for students of Lodz University of Technology is available to students who are at least in the 2nd year of study of their first-cycle studies or at least in the 1st semester of their second-cycle studies.

The Rector's scholarship for students in their first year of the first-cycle studies may be awarded only to a student admitted to the first year of studies in the year of taking the matriculation examination, who meets the following conditions:

· they are a winner of an international Olympiad, or a winner or finalist of a central-level Olympiad mentioned in the regulations on the educational system, or

· they are a current medallist in at least a competition for the title of Polish Champion in a given sport, as referred to in the sports regulations.

The Rector's scholarship for students may be awarded to a student who achieved outstanding academic results in the previous academic year, has scientific or artistic achievements or sport achievements in competitions of at least a national level.

The list of scored achievements is included in the appropriate Appendix No. 1 to the Regulations of Benefits for Students of Lodz University of Technology.

Scholarships are awarded within so-called ranking groups. An independent ranking group consists of:

a) students of the organisational unit providing education, studying in the same field of study, in the same forms (full-time and part-time studies);

b) students following a study programme at the International Faculty of Engineering, studying in the same field of study;

c) students of the first semester of second-cycle studies of the organisational unit providing education, studying in the same field of study, in the same forms (full-time and part-time studies);

d) students recruited from the summer semester, who have completed 1 semester of studies in the organisational unit providing education, studying in the same field of study, in the same forms (full-time and part-time studies).

Scholarships are granted to a maximum of 10% of the best students in a given field of study who obtained the highest number of points in their ranking group, however, not less than the point threshold specified in a separate communication of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs on the rate of particular types of benefits.

The scholarship is granted for an academic year.

The amount of the Rector's scholarship at TUL:

1) The amount of the scholarship awarded may consist of two parts: the basic amount and the scholarship increase amount. The basic amount is fixed for all scholarship holders and is independent of the number of ranking points and place on the ranking list.

2) The scholarship increase is available to students who are the holders of the Rector's scholarship for the best students and who have obtained one of the two highest ranking values in a given field of study (within the basic organisational unit/IFE).

3) Scholarship rates for students in year 2 and above of the first-cycle studies and students in all years of the second-cycle studies:

a) basic - PLN 700 per month;

b) increase - PLN 500 per month.

4) Rates of scholarships for students in the 1st year of studies of the first-cycle studies, winners of international Olympiads or winners or finalists of Olympiads of the central level referred to in the regulations on the educational system of Olympiads:

a) PLN 1200 per month if the profile of the Olympiad is consistent with the field of science and natural sciences or the field of technical and engineering sciences, and in the case of studies conducted at the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering and faculties of Business and Technology, Business Studies and Gestion et Technologie conducted at the International Faculty of Engineering also with the field of social sciences;

b) PLN 700 per month if the profile of the Olympiad is different from that in point a.

5) The amount of the scholarship for students of the 1st year of the first-cycle studies who are at least medallists in a competition for the title of Polish Champion in a given sport, as referred to in the regulations on sports, is PLN 700 per month.

Submission of applications:

Applications for the Rector's scholarship should be printed out via Webdziekanat and submitted together with the necessary attachments to the Dean's Offices of the faculties at which the interested persons study. Students pursuing education at IFE submit their applications to the Dean's Offices of their home faculties. The committee may request the student to explain the evidence. After giving its opinion, the applications are forwarded to the Benefits Service Section.

Students of the 1st year of the first-cycle studies fill in the application form attached below and submit it to the Dean's Office in October.
