The anchoringcompressing system for tensioning of bars, especially composite bands, glued into the close-to-surface concreto cover of building structures

The growing needs associated with a higher grade of building loads and with engineering changes have contributed to a situation in which raised buildings demonstrate errors already at the stage of their construction together with mechanical damage of load-bearing elements. Therefore, polymer composite applications began to be considered as a quick intervention to strengthen building structures of various types.

A team from the Department of Concrete Structures has designed and developed band tensioning anchoring-compression system made of polymer composites, glued into the close-to-surface concrete cover (the Near Surface Mounted – NSM method) of structure elements. The system is provided with a hydraulic cylinder. 

This technology is intended for industrial applications.
