Light metal alloys and composites are among the perspective material groups in the automotive, aviation and space indusries. An important feature of these alloys is their structure which is responsible for their mechanical properties and application areas. A team of the Institute of Materials Engineering has designed and developed a module device for evaluation of material structures which have been submitted to impacts of external forces, and for analysis of their mechanical properties in nanometric scale and with the possibility of creating conditions of cryogenic temperatures and decreased pressure.
The application of this technology allows for expansion of the range of products intended for evaluation of mechanical properties with a module device which assesses these properties in cryogenic temperature and decreased pressure conditions.
This technology may be applied by manufacturers and vendors of special measuring instruments.
