Optimisation of energy mix costs and planning of the development of energy production network is a great challenge when planning of an energy safety strategy for the country.

The eMix optimisation software has been designed and developed at the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering, is a tool used to plan the development of technological components of electric power production units in long-term perspectives with a view to achieving highest cost-effectiveness under given input data. The time horizon which is assumed in the models targets the years 2020–2050. This program employs mathematical optimisation of the linear, binary-linear and integer type.

This technology may find applications in the power industry and government sector companies.
