The Technical University of Lodz joined European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) which unites 11 European Universities. The members of the Consortium constitute the network of universities with united profiles of functioning, especially in the triangle: research – education – innovation. All the members of ECIU are strongly involved in the development of European Higher Education Area and European Research Area.

ECIU members are:

• University of Strathclyde (UK)
• Universiteit Twente (Netherlands)

Universities operating within ECIU support goals of the Lisbon Strategy by realizing joint educational and scientific projects. The functioning of the Consortium focuses on four main areas:

• Common ECIU complementary master’s degree course and student mobility
• Human resources development
• Knowledge triangle
• European Union Policy
