How to reduce CO2 emission in passenger cars? @import url



Scientists from the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Lodz and Poznan University of Technology and representatives of main automotive companies (i.a. Renault, Volkswagen and Fiat) met in Lodz. 
First annual meeting of all General Assembly partners (from France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Finland, Czech Republic and Poland) was devoted to 50% reduction of CO2 in exhaust fumes in comparison to CO2 maximum concentration described by the European Norm of 2005 about passenger cars and light delivery vans produced in Europe after the year 2020.
The meeting has been organized within the 7th EU Framework Programme  - POWERFUL (POWERtrain for Future Light-duty Vehicles). The project has been run since 1 October 2010 and will be finished by the end of 2013. The project is worth 20 million Euro and has 20 participants major of which are Renault, Volkswagen, Fiat and Magnetti – Mirelli.
The two-day meeting took place on 1-2 December in Campanile Hotel in Lodz.
