Prof. Tomasz Kubiak from TUL will preside over the Dean's College

Prof. Tomasz Kubiak, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology, was elected (13.10) as Chairman of the College of Deans of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Polish Technical Universities. 

After the election prof. Tomasz Kubiak said:

– One of the most important tasks of our College is integration, which facilitates the exchange of experiences, discussions on the problems posed by the current epidemic situation and the challenges arising from the implementation of the new Act on Higher Education. We operate on many levels, in the field of education, science and research and organizational matters, therefore agreeing on a common position on subjects of interest to our departments is extremely important and valuable. 

Operating continuously since 1997, the College brings together all departments of mechanical engineering profile in Poland. It is a significant representation of the academic community, as these departments are often among the largest at any university.

The first meeting of the College of Deans of Mechanical Engineering Faculties of Polish Technical Universities in 2020-2024 was held remotely. It was attended by 33 deans representing 25 Polish technical universities. 

Prof. Tomasz Kubiak has been Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Lodz University of Technology since 2016. In the last parameterization, the Faculty received the category A. The Faculty employees carry out numerous interdisciplinary projects awarded in competitions organized by The National Centre of Research And Development, National Science Centre and Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Many of them are conducted for the benefit of companies that need to further develop modern technologies.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL is famous for its spectacular activity of science clubs, in which students design e.g. solar cars or home turbines.
