TUL hybrid systems awarded with a gold medal

The world's oldest international invention competition, Concours Lépine, brought another success to the invention of the Consortium of the Department of Electrical Apparatus at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering of Lodz University of Technology and Woltan - Zakład Aparatury Elektrycznej.

The gold medal was awarded to the solution: USH - ultra-fast hybrid systems for protecting DC circuits with high magnetic energies, including: 1a - DCU-HM for DC1 and DC2 railroad traction systems, 1b - DCSS for protection of superconductive electromagnets. Authors: Prof. Piotr Borkowski, dr hab. Marek Bartosik, retired TUL professor, dr hab. Franciszek Wójcik, mgr Andrzej Jeske and mgr inż. Łukasz Nowak.

Concours Lépine is always held under the honorary patronage of the President of the French Republic. It has a very long tradition. Throughout 119 years of history, only World War II prevented this prestigious event from being organized. This year, the competition winners were announced at the end of October.
