TUL researcher in the Polish Young Academy, PAN

Dr hab. inż. Marta Gmurek of the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering has been elected member of the Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The 17 new members were elected during the last session of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

As dr hab. inż. Marta Gmurek says:

Being elected member of the Polish Young Academy is a great honor and an exceptional opportunity for scientific and non-scientific development. I feel honored that I will have the opportunity to represent Lodz University of Technology in such an esteemed scholarly body. I intend to actively engage in activities promoting science - especially in the field of chemical engineering, research policy, and advancement of scientific excellence.

The researcher will work in Division IV Engineering Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

I believe that it is important to communicate to young people what technical sciences do in a way that popular science does, which I hope will inspire prospective young researchers to take this path in their scientific careers. I would very much like to promote academic exchange among young scientists in connection with teaching but above all in research. Visits to research institutions provide an opportunity to increase their awareness, which enables good practices to be transferred to 'our own backyard'. I would like my 5-year term of office to bring measurable results in raising the quality of engineering disciplines, advancing my professional career, and also strengthening our University, adds dr hab. inż. Marta Gmurek.

The Polish Young Academy was established to promote scientific research and development efforts carried out by outstanding young representatives of Polish science.
