In China, Ola Bednarek participated in the International Winter Swimming Association World Cup held on January 11th-12th in Jinan as well as in the preceding competition, the 6th China International Winter Swimming Festival on the Grand Canal in Taierzhuang, where she had won a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke and two silver medals in the 4×50m freestyle and 4×5m medley relays.
In the Jinan World Cup, the student of Lodz University of Technology won three gold medals in the 25m, 50m and 100m breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 25m, 50m and 300m freestyle.
During the World Championships in Bled, Slovenia (February 3rd-9th) she claimed two World Champion titles: in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, two silver medals: in the 50m breaststroke and 200m freestyle, and two bronze medals: in the 25m breaststroke and 4x25 breaststroke relay.
As communicated by Ola Bednarek, her results for the 100 and 200m breaststroke are the new - although still unofficial, world records.
Ola is a 3rd-year Biomedical Engineering student at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, Lodz University of Technology. Open water swimming is her extra-curricular pursuit.
