The visit of the delegation from Azerbaijan at Lodz University of Technology

On Saturday, February 2nd, our university hosted a high-level delegation from Azerbaijan.  Among them were the Minister of Education, Misir Mardanov, the Minister for Industry and Energy, Natig Aliyev, the Rector of Baku State University, Abel Maharramov, the Rector of  Azerbaijan University of Languages, Samad Seyidov, the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Gulchohra Mammadova, and members of the Azerbaijani Parliament.  The guests were accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Poland, Hasan Aziz ogly Hasanov and MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, who initiated the visit.
The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Professor Stanisław Bielecki, PhD., DSc. and Vice-Rectors: Professor Piotr Paneth, PhD., DSc., Vice-Rector for Science, Professor  Piotr Szczepaniak, PhD., DSc., Vice-Rector for  University Development, Professor Piotr Kula, PhD., DSc., Vice-Rector for Innovations. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the International Faculty of Engineering, Tomasz Saryusz-Wolski, PhD and representatives of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering: Artur Zaguła, PhD., Vice Dean for Education and Marek Pabich, PhD., DSc., Associate Professor of TUL, the Director of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning. The main purpose of the meeting was to establish a scientific and educational collaboration between Lodz University of Technology and the universities from Azerbaijan.  Guests listened to a presentation about the University and the International Faculty of Engineering. They were extremely interested in a possibility of cooperation in the field of architecture. At the end, the participants of the meeting exchanged gifts and our guests signed the memorial book. During their short stay in Lodz, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with the authorities of the City of Konstantynów Łódzki, representatives of the Lodz Special Economic Zone, the authorities of the European Institute and the authorities of University of Lodz.
