A method of waterproof insulation and drying of horizontal concrete structures

Horizontal building structures, such as balconies and terraces, require effective waterproof insulation methods.

A team from the Department of Building Physics and Building Materials has designed and developed an innovative building composite in the form of a three-layer, thermally consolidated composite, the components of which include: drainage geotextile layer, barrier layer, made of thermoplastic foil, and a protective layer of non-woven fabric with an isotropic structure. This composite enables shortening of the production cycle of the upper layers of  horizontal building elements with waterproof insulation.

This technology is intended for the building industry.
