The international jury of E-NNOVATE 2023 awarded a Silver Award to the EEIA Faculty student for his design of a mobile RC platform. But that is not the only award Jakub received. His design was also appreciated by the Iranian research institute, International Avicenna Research Center, which granted him the IARC Young Scientist Award, as well as by the representatives of Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania, who presented the author with the Special Award ‘Laus Ingenii Causa’.

The platform, designed by Jakub Filipek, is an original design of a remotely operated vehicle. It can be used to perform a range of different tasks because it is designed to be fitted with different implements. 'You could compare it to a tractor used in agriculture: it can provide power to or haul other equipment that does not have its own power system', explained Jakub. 'The hybrid-powered vehicle is equipped with an electronic on-board and control apparatus.

Jakub Filipek started the design of the RC platform over a year ago and continued with its development during the project course required by the curriculum, wanting to come up with a real thing with application potential. The student is supervised by mgr inż. Zbigniew Kulesza, of the Department of Microelectronics and Computer Science.

The mobile RC platform design has already been honored in the nationwide Student Construction Competition - KOKOS, held mid-May at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. There Jakub Filipek was awarded the 'Hero of Design' title for the best solo designer.
