The Research Ethics Committee of Lodz University of Technology was established on the basis of the Ordinance No. 32/2021 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology dated 17 June 2021. Its task is to provide opinions on planned research in terms of ethics. The Committee includes representatives of various professions and scientific specialties with emphasis on such professions as lawyer, ethicist or philosopher, psychologist and medical doctor.

The following persons have been appointed to the Research Ethics Committee of Lodz University of Technology:

  1. Chairman: Prof. dr. hab. Maciej Soin;
  2. Vice-Chairman: dr Bartłomiej Zagrodny;
  3. Secretary: mgr Katarzyna Sukienniczak-Kucharska;
  4. Members: dr. hab. Laurent Babout, TUL Prof.; Joanna Chołdyk-Hasiura MD; mgr Ewa Worotyńska-Kos; mgr Michał Zieliński.

Its most important task is to provide opinions on research involving human subjects where there may be various risks to their health or where data protection rights may be breached. Research using biological material which originates from humans is also taken into account.

The Committee will hold its meetings according to a schedule agreed in the first week of each semester.

Procedure for submitting documents:

The application for an opinion should be submitted in writing in 2 copies to the Project Services Office of Lodz University of Technology in an envelope or folder with the description: "Research Ethics Committee of Lodz University of Technology", as well as in electronic version by sending it to: keban@info.p.lodz.pl. Both versions - paper and electronic - must not differ and should be written in Polish Ordinance No. 32/2021 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of June 17, 2021 on the Rules and Regulations of the Research Ethics Committee of Lodz University of Technology.
