Lodz University of Technology and the Information Processing Centre – National Research Institute (OPI PIB) have entered into a cooperation agreement. The agreement concerns the implementation of the PraktykOn programme, which enables students to prepare their diploma theses in collaboration with OPI experts and strengthens links between the academic community and the research and technology sector. The document was signed by the Rector of TUL, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, and the Director of OPI PIB, dr hab. inż. Jarosław Protasiewicz.

Canada, Japan, the United States, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Sweden—these are just some of the destinations to which doctoral candidates of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology will travel in the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. Thanks to the project “IMPROVE – International Mission for the Promotion of Research and Optimal Values in Education,” implemented under the STER NAWA programme, funding has been awarded to 20 doctoral candidates representing nine scientific disciplines.

A prestigious research project funded by the European Union under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship programme is being carried out at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. The programme, aimed at postdoctoral researchers, enables the implementation of ambitious research plans in an international environment. The Department of Environmental Biotechnology is hosting Dr Teresa Branysová from the Czech Academy of Sciences, who is conducting pioneering research in collaboration with Prof. Beata Gutarowska.

The scale of success is impressive—competition was intense. More than 17,000 applications were submitted to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship programme, and only four grants were awarded to Poland.

From 8–12 June 2026, Lodz University of Technology hosted an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) implemented within the ECIU network. The entire initiative was coordinated by the team of Sebastian Bakalarczyk, Agnieszka Pietras, and Iwona Staniec. The programmes “Digital Development Roadmaps” and “Digital Maturity Auditing and Process Optimization” attracted students from universities in Finland, France, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland, who worked intensively for several days in international teams during a hackathon, tackling real business challenges.

In the recently published report, Lodz University of Technology once again confirmed its strong international standing. This year’s edition brought particular success: the university was ranked in five disciplines, appearing for the first time in two new categories.

Lodz University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). The document signing ceremony took place on March 12, 2026, in Hong Kong. Lodz University of Technology was represented by Prof. Paweł Strumiłło, who attended the event on behalf of the university rector. From HKMU's side, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives Prof. Alan Au and Prof. Roy Vellaisamy from the School of Science and Technology were present.
