Scientists from Lodz University of Technology, in collaboration with BioStar PPHU Witold Krusz, are working to produce high-quality wheat bread using sourdough. They aim for the bread to have a rich aroma and flavor while improving the traditional technological process.

Lodz University of Technology, Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, is one of five partners participating in the innovative project HYDRO - New Competences for New Jobs in the Green Hydrogen Economic Era. This project, co-financed by the European Commission under the ERASMUS+ program, aligns with European environmental policy and focuses on training specialists for a greener economy, primarily in the field of green hydrogen. The consortium has received €250,000 for the planned activities.

At its last meeting in 2024, the Senate of Lodz University of Technology decided to initiate proceedings for the conferral of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament. The supervisor of this process is the rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.

The awarding of an honorary doctorate is a prestigious recognition of a scientist’s outstanding achievements and contributions to advancing a particular field, a significant tradition in academic life. During a ceremonial session of the Senate, the honorary doctorate of Lodz University of Technology was conferred upon Prof. Bogusław Buszewski, an ordinary member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The laudatory address was delivered by the award’s promoter, Prof. Małgorzata Iwona Szynkowska-Jóźwik, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, and the degree was formally presented by the university’s Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.
The crystal statuette awarded by Nauka i Biznes magazine recognizes individuals and institutions that play a pivotal role in fostering cooperation between science and business in Poland. The "Lider 2024 Nauka i Biznes" statuette presented to Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik honors his exemplary leadership in managing the university during the exceptionally challenging and dynamic period of the 2020-2024 term.
The Academic Sports Gala drew in medalists from the Paris Olympics, winners of this year's Academic World Championships, and representatives from universities across Poland who gathered in Warsaw to celebrate academic excellence in sports. Dr Paweł Latosiński and dr Konrad Kulikowski have received the Minister's scholarship for outstanding young scientists. During the October meeting of the TUL Senate, Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik and Vice Rector for Science Prof. Łukasz Albrecht extended words of congratulations to the two scholarship winners, presenting them with a commemorative diploma signed by Mr Dariusz Wieczorek, Minister of Science and Higher Education.
The Design-4-All space recently showcased a series of unique projects developed by students from Poland and Japan ,aimed at supporting children on the autism spectrum (ASD). This collaborative initiative stemmed from a partnership between Lodz University of Technology and Shibaura Institute of Technology, which together organized a global Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience.

Dr hab. inż. arch. Bartosz Hunger has been awarded the academic title of Professor of Art in the discipline of Fine Arts and Art Conservation. The honor was conferred on July 29, 2024, by the President of the Republic of Poland.
