The Language Centre of Lodz University of Technology has once again proved that the standards of foreign language teaching at our university are among the world leaders. Following a rigorous inspection carried out on 27-28 October 2025 by the international organisation Eaquals, the entity received confirmation of accreditation, achieving excellent results in many key areas.

Prof. Stanisław Bielecki, an outstanding scientist and Rector of Lodz University of Technology from 2008 to 2016, has been appointed Ambassador of the World Bioeconomy Association (WBA) for Poland and the Baltic States.
This distinction is a natural consequence of his many years of scientific, organizational, and international activity dedicated to the development of industrial biotechnology and the bioeconomy. The role combines representing the idea of a global bioeconomy with actively supporting cooperation among science, industry, and public administration in the Central and Eastern European and Baltic regions.

Lodz University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (USUST) from Dnipro. The agreement was signed on Friday, January 16, in the Rector’s Office by Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of TUL, and Prof. Kostiantyn Sukhyi, Rector of USUST.

Lodz University of Technology (TUL) has begun cooperation with Longdong University, a public higher education institution from Gansu Province, China. The university is actively involved in the international “Belt and Road Initiative”. Its activities focus on the development of academic exchange, joint research projects, and the transfer of knowledge and technology between universities in different countries.

On December 5, 2025, the EQUNI Final Conference took place at Lodz University of Technology, marking the successful conclusion of a three-year journey dedicated to improving emotional intelligence and combating discrimination in European universities.

During the December Top1000 Science & Technology Expedition to Silicon Valley mission, scientists and innovators from Lodz University of Technology presented their most promising technologies in the United States. It was a significant visit to the place where groundbreaking technological and business solutions are born.

On 1 December 2025, a seminar ‘Engineering for Security: Universities and Industry in Service of Defence’ was held in Brussels, organised by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, the National Centre for Research and Development, and Business & Science Poland, in cooperation with European technical universities and representatives of the defence sector. The event was attended by the rector of the Łódź University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik.

The Lodz University of Technology Foundation has awarded scholarships to the university’s most talented students for the thirteenth time, marking the culmination of its Scholarship Programme with a final gala.

A team of students from Lodz University of Technology won first place in the “The Circular Shift: Business Reinvented” competition, organized by the Institute for Innovation and Responsible Development (INNOWO) as part of Circular Week 2025, an international series of events dedicated to the circular economy, sustainable development, and the green transition.

From June 23 to 27, 2025, the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering at Lodz University of Technology hosted the on-site part of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled “Practical Solutions for Managing Challenges in Industry Through Simulations”. The event brought together students from various countries within the ECIU network, who spent a week tackling real-world managerial challenges in a simulated business environment.

How can we make bridges, viaducts, and buildings more durable, safer, and environmentally friendly? The research conducted by Janusz Rogowski, PhD from the Department of Concrete Structures at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering , within a project funded by the National Science Centre under the MINIATURA 9 grant, aims to provide an answer to this question.

The Centre for Papermaking and Printing at Lodz University of Technology is launching a project entitled “The impact of micro- and nanocellulose on the mechanical and barrier properties of multilayer fibrous materials”. The project is led by Karolina Radomska, PhD who secured funding from the National Science Centre’s MINIATURA 9 competition.

Representatives of institutions from nine countries met on 28–30 October to summarise the results of the FRONTSH1P project. It is one of only four projects in Europe addressing the circular economy in such a comprehensive manner, involving €18 million in funding and 35 partner institutions.
