The Rector of Lodz University of Technology announces annual competitions for the following awards:


  • for the highest number of citations,

  • for the author of the best published scientific publications,

  • for the youngest first author of a scientific publication,

  • for the most valuable implementation.

The winner of the competition for the best cited author in 2022 is Professor Marcin Kamiński, Assoc. Prof. Eng. from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering. He will receive the prize of PLN 25 000.

In the competition for the award for female/male author of the best scientific publication published in 2021, the winner was Professor Jan Awrejcewicz, Assoc. Prof. Eng. from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He will receive PLN 25 000 as a reward.

The winner of the prize for the youngest female/male first author of a scientific publication in 2021 was Konrad Stefaniak from the Faculty of Chemistry. The value of the award is PLN 10 000.

The competition for the best publishing female/male PhD student in 2021 was won by Justyna Kowalska, MSc from the Faculty of Chemistry. She receives the prize of PLN 10 000.

The award for the most valuable implementation in 2021 was given to three units: Institute of TurbomachineryInstitute of General and Ecological Chemistry and Institute of Materials Engineering. The value of the award is PLN 40 000.

At the same time, special awards were given in the following scientific disciplines. For the 2022 best cited female/male author award, special awards in the following disciplines were given to:

  • in materials engineering – Prof. Leszek Klimek, Assoc. Prof. Eng.

  • in mathematics – Michał Bełdziński, MA

  • in management and quality studies – Iga Jaśmina Lamar, MSc.

The winner of the prize for the best cited author in 2021 is Prof. Jan Awrejcewicz, Assoc. Prof. Eng. from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He will receive a prize of PLN 25,000. In the competition for the award for the author of the best academic paper published in 2020, the winner was Dr Eng. Piotr Szajerski, from the Faculty of Chemistry. He will receive PLN 25,000.

The winner of the competition for the youngest first author of an academic paper in 2020 was Mikołaj Woźniak from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering. The amount of the award is PLN 10 000. The competition for the best publishing doctoral student in 2020 won Eng. Andrzej Gąsiorowski, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Chemistry. He will receive a prize of 10 000 PLN.


The prize for the most valuable implementation in 2020 was awarded to the Institute of Applied Computer Science. The value of the award is PLN 40,000.

Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik is very grateful for all the competition entries and congratulates all the winners.

Two awards of equal rank in the amount of 12, 500 PLN each were presented in the competition for the award for the authors of the best scientific publications. They were given to prof. dr hab. inż. Stanisław Ledakowicz and dr hab. inż. Marta Gmurek, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering.

Inż. Robert Borowski from the Faculty of Chemistry became the laureate in the competition for the award for the youngest first author of a scientific publication in 2019. He received 10, 000 PLN.

The award for the most valuable implementation in 2019 in the amount of 40, 000 PLN was given to a team of researchers composed of dr hab. inż. Marek Bartosik Assoc. Prof., prof. dr hab. inż. Piotr Borkowski and dr hab. inż. Franciszek Wójcik from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering

Prof. dr hab. Jacek Ulański from the Faculty of Chemistry became the laureate in the competition for the award for the highest number of citations in 2019. He received 25, 000 PLN.

A special award was also granted in the amount of 25, 000 PLN. It was conferred to hab. inż. Katarzyna Śliżewska, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, for her contribution to the development of agricultural sciences at Lodz University of Technology.

Dr inż. Piotr Brzeski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was the winner in the competition for the award for the authors of the best scientific publications published in 2018. The value of this award is 25, 000 PLN.

Inż. Stefan Cichosz from the Faculty of Chemistry won in the category for the youngest first author of a scientific publication in the previous year. He will receive an award in the amount of 10, 000 PLN.

The award for the most valuable implementation in 2018 was conferred to a team of researchers from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering including dr hab. inż. Marek Bartosik, Assoc. Prof., prof. dr hab. inż. Piotr Borkowski and dr hab. inż. Franciszek Wójcik. The value of this award is 40, 000 PLN.

The competition for the award for the highest number of citations in 2018 was won by prof. dr hab. inż. Przemysław Perlikowski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He will receive 25, 000 PLN.

A special award was also awarded for significant contribution to scientific work of Lodz University of Technology for mgr inż. Adrian Gliszczyński from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The value of this award is 5, 000 PLN.
