The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology has once again received funding to further the internationalization of doctoral education. The project “IMPROVE – International Mission for Promoting Research and Optimal Values in Education” has been granted PLN 2,000,000 under the program STER – Internationalization of Doctoral Schools – 2024 Call of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
The project "IMPROVE – International Mission for Promoting Research and Optimal Values in Education” will be implemented between 2025 and 2027 and includes initiatives aimed at enhancing international cooperation within the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology.
Scope of activities
As part of the project, the following activities are planned:
- NAWA scholarships for the best doctoral candidates,
- funding for international research and scientific internships for doctoral candidates,
- lectures and consultations delivered by distinguished professors from foreign academic institutions,
- involvement of international supervisors in the education process of doctoral candidates,
- a series of training sessions and workshops to develop doctoral candidates’ transversal competences, including intercultural communication, critical thinking, as well as training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data management,
- an event aimed at doctoral candidates and supervisors promoting openness, exchange of experience and cooperation in an international academic environment – Diversity Day,
- a Polish language course for international doctoral candidates, including elements of Polish culture, supporting their integration with the university and everyday life in Poland.
The project also includes comprehensive information and promotional activities designed to increase the visibility and attractiveness of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School’s offer both in Poland and abroad. Multimedia materials will be prepared to showcase research development opportunities and the educational offer of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology.
The implementation of the IMPROVE project continues the efforts of Lodz University of Technology in the internationalization of doctoral education, contributing to improving the quality of education, increasing doctoral candidates’ mobility, and strengthening cooperation with foreign academic institutions.
