Prof. Hunger has been affiliated with the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning since graduating in 1994, having completed his master’s degree dissertation under the guidance of Prof. Bolesław Kardaszewski. Prof. Hunger’s doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Wojciech Zabłocki, an accomplished architect and Olympic medalist in fencing, was successfully defended with distinction in 2002. Seven years later, he received his postdoctoral degree from the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.

Specializing in the architecture of public buildings, particularly sports facilities, Prof. Hunger’s doctoral and postdoctoral research focused on this area. His passion for sports is also reflected in his personal achievements: he became the Polish Architects' Tennis Champion in 2022 and participated in a two-week session at the International Olympic Academy in Greece (Athens, Olympia, 1995).
An accomplished author, Prof. Hunger has contributed many articles examining the connection between sports and architecture and is recognized as an expert in this field. He has supervised over 300 architectural theses, many of which have been awarded, and has promoted three doctoral candidates.

For the past 13 years, he has maintained a close collaborative relationship with the town of Uniejów, for which he has designed unique public buildings within a strict conservation area. His notable projects include Dom Pracy Twórczej [House of Creative Work], Interaktywny Punkt Turytyki Geotermalnej [Interactive Geothermal Tourism Point], and the recently opened center Spycimierskie Corpus Christi.
