Traditionally, awards were presented to the universities that excelled in both the overall and medal classifications of the Polish Academic Championships. Academy of Physical Education in Katowice led the medal standings, while Gdansk University of Technology topped the overall standings for the fifth consecutive year.
Lodz University of Technology also performed exceptionally, securing sixth place in the medal classification with a total of 21 medals: 8 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze. The classification included 90 universities. Athletes from Łódź competed in 39 out of the 47 available disciplines and secured 13th place in the overall standings, with a strong performance.
Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik was quick to point out the significance of the results, stating, ‘We maintained our position in the general classification, which is a significant achievement given our modest size and limited resources to field teams across all events. Our strong presence in the medal classification proves that in the competitions we participate in, we are indeed a force to be reckoned with. I would like to thank all our athletes, coaches, and staff for their dedication and hard work. They always give their best and I am proud of them’.
The Academic Sports Association is Poland's largest sports organization. It has been in continuous operation for nearly 120 years and has grown into the country's largest student organization, having around 40,000 members across Polish universities today.
