Cybersecurity is a critical issue, impacting both scientific research and everyday life. With the growing prevalence of online crime, this partnership between TUL and the CBZP aims to tackle these emerging challenges. Commenting on the significance of the agreement, prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik stated:
‘From the university’s perspective, this agreement is extremely important. Cybercrime is one of the most dangerous and often invisible threats. A stark example occurred in Łódź in 2022, when hackers targeted the medical institution, causing a database crash. This incident highlighted the severity of the threat. I am confident that the long-standing, excellent cooperation between the Police and Lodz University of Technology will play a key role in combating cybercrime. This agreement is yet another step in addressing a critical issue that continues to grow in scale, affecting not just students and staff, but society as a whole.’
Junior Inspector Michał Pudło also emphasized the significance of the collaboration:
‘We are pleased to sign this agreement. It is a great honor for us to work with such a respected institution as Lodz University of Technology. As the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, we will do everything in our power to ensure this partnership reaches its fullest potential.’
The agreement lays the groundwork for cooperation in developing essential professional skills, as well as implementing and testing new technologies and solutions in the field of computer science, including computer forensics. The initiative will primarily focus on TUL’s students and staff, but will also extend to organizing activities for the local community.
