Professor Piotr Sankowski of the University of Warsaw, an accomplished computer scientist and winner of prestigious ERC grants, was one of the featured guests during the Science and Project Day, one of the events of the Research Week. In an interview with Życie Uczelni, he talked about the research on artificial intelligence conducted at IDEAS NCBR, of which he is President, and the importance of promoting and communicating research outputs.

The Faculty of Organization and Management (OiZ), in its capacity as a partner in the project Industry Skills Center for Logistics in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, will be involved in an endeavor, whose budget is 12 million złoty, intended to introduce a new institution into the ecosystem of education. Its official launch is scheduled for January 2025.

Every year, a number doctoral degrees are awarded at Lodz University of Technology: during a solemn ceremony researchers are presented with their doctoral diplomas. I am talking to Stanisław Pruś, who defended his doctoral dissertation in February. What makes him stand out among the group of newly promoted doctoral degree recipients are the years he has lived. He returned to research work while already retired. May this article serve as an inspiration to all who wish to pursue their scholarly interests, regardless of age or employment status.

The Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) has distinguished Chemical Technology and Power Engineering degree programs by awarding them both Education Excellence Certificates.
The French Academy for Young Engineers (FAMI) concept debuted at the International Faculty of Engineering (IFE) in 2017. The pioneering initiative was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from students, their parents, and teachers, which is why another edition of the Academy has been held since then concurrently with the inauguration of each new academic year.

The World University Championships in Speed Skating were held in Hamar, Norway. On the opening day of the event, the Poles performed outstandingly well, especially Natalia Jabrzyk and Marek Kania, 1000m distance champions! 'We have double gold, so that is something to be happy about', Jabrzyk, the new university world champion, did not beat around the bush. But that was not the end of medals won by the Polish athletes.
The ageing of the academic staff at universities and a lack of younger people keen on pursuing academic careers may soon lead to a decline in enrollment numbers. Consequently, fewer specialists will be available to ensure further development of the Polish economy.
