A modern space opened at the International Cooperation Centre will be available to young people and adults who wish to enhance their professional and personal skills. This is the Francophone Employment Centre (Centre d’Employabilité Francophone, CEF), one of the flagship projects of the Francophone University Agency (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, AUF). It is the only such centre in Poland.

CEF Offer
Assoc. Prof. Dorota Piotrowska, Director of the International Cooperation Centre, emphasized that CEF's main principles are friendliness and inclusivity, a focus on competencies, integration of formal and informal education, and collaboration with external partners.

The centre will offer language and digital courses as well as various competency courses certified by certificates or micro-credentials. Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik highlighted that issuing micro-credentials aligns with modern trends currently observed in Europe. The centre will also conduct workshops on soft skills, personal development, and entrepreneurship to prepare participants for entering the job market. It will provide entrepreneurship tutoring and support for project implementation or idea incubation. Additionally, events featuring experts, entrepreneurs, and alumni will be organized alongside professional forums, industry meetings, and company visits.

CEF is designed as a place where practical skills, creativity, collaboration, and personal growth are prioritized over formal education or identification numbers.

Founders and Partners
The main funder of the centre is AUF, which includes over 1,000 academic institutions from nearly 120 countries. Daniela Petrov-Druet from AUF emphasized that this new facility at Lodz University of Technology will foster innovation, professional integration, and the creation of international cooperation networks.

Project partners include Veolia and the Honorary Consul of France in Lodz. Anna Kędziora-Szwagrzak, President of Veolia Poland, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate and stressed that education is a crucial element in any transformation process.

Honorary Consul Alicja Bień noted that France has had a presence at Lodz University of Technology for many years, making the continuation of this partnership particularly joyous. In today’s challenging times, wise education for future generations is essential.

Wirginia Gostomczyk-Urbańska, Honorary Consul of Belgium in Lodz, added that French is highly valuable in the Polish job market and expressed confidence that micro-certificates obtained at CEF will open up macro-opportunities.
