Boston's universities are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in 'The World's Most Innovative Universities' by Reuters and have been the core of the innovation ecosystem in the US for years.

Meetings with Ms Lesley Millar-Nicholson, Managing Director of the Technology Licensing Office at MIT, and Ms Yelena Bisharyan - Director of Business Development at the Office of Technology Development at Harvard University, allowed not only to identify best practices in the area of commercialization, but also to understand the importance of the university's brand and entrepreneurial culture when implementing cutting-edge solutions. During the visits, the importance of research being oriented towards practical social needs was emphasised. Methods and tools needed to motivate and support researchers were also discussed.
