A green future calls for people who think green and act green. So how do we draw people's attention to the protection of the earth, conservation of natural resources, sustainable production, and reduction of consumption? Our university is deeply invested in this issue.

Lodz University of Technology is participating in the project 'Partnerships for innovation and development of green skills and knowledge enabling transformation and change for green jobs and enterprises' (educate4green). The project is carried out under the ERASMUS+ program by a consortium that includes, besides our university, the Universitate Politehnica in Bucharest (Romania) as the coordinator, the Eurotraining Solution SRL training center from Romania, S.C. Inforelea from Italy, and the Bulgarian Angel Kanchev University in Ruse.

Its goal is to ramp up the development of green knowledge and skills among students, teachers, and practitioners. At its core, it sets out to design, implement, and gradual scaling up of an innovative educational model based on transnational, transdisciplinary, and future-oriented approaches in business and engineering toward green jobs, green enterprises, and sustainable development. The project is intended to help young people get prepared for the important role they will play in the green reconstruction that is to follow in their region.

Young people have long been involved in movements around climate change, taking part in the dialogue on the future of the planet in crisis caused by irresponsible management of the natural environment.

The project will run for 36 months and address three groups of issues related to actions for green transformation:
-    narrowing the existing gap in green skills by designing an innovative educational model to support teaching and learning of the know-how and skills that underpin the development of a more sustainable society, green jobs and enterprises;
-    bolstering the transformational capacity of partner organizations in going green and achieving digital readiness by engaging learners (students, teachers, and practitioners) in peer-to-peer learning of forward-looking curricula in tandem with blended learning sessions;
-    sharing the results of the innovative educational model and promoting transformational change towards green and digital transformation, engaging students and teachers from different countries in a transdisciplinary and future-oriented approach in business and engineering to develop green skills and achieve sustainable growth.

Dr inż. Irena Barbara Jałmużna, the Institute of Marketing and Sustainable Development, the Faculty of Organization and Management, is the leader of the project at Lodz University of Technology.
