The consortium brings together universities, research institutes, public bodies, and European networks. Slovenia (Slovenian University of Primorska) is the leader of the grant. At TUL, the project will be coordinated by dr hab. inż. arch. Aneta Kępczyńska-Walczak, TUL prof., of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning.

The NEBA Alliance, with its highly diverse expertise across the EU, will tackle skill gaps in the sustainable and closed-loop construction sector and improve regional and national employability while promoting high quality and inclusivity in construction, explained TUL prof. Aneta Kępczyńska-Walczak, who went on to say, The NEB Academy is a flagship initiative of The European Year of Skills intended to accelerate upskilling and reskilling in the construction ecosystem. At its core, it insists on the importance of training and lifelong learning for the development of in-demand skills, including those for green and digital transformation in the construction sector. One of the goals of the project is to establish model competence centers.’

Rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, in congratulating dr hab. inż. arch. Anetta Kępczyńska-Walczak, TUL professor, on winning the grant for the University remarked,

‘Lodz University of Technology, being a member of a large European consortium, is contributing to the establishment of a pan-European training network aimed to serve the European construction sector, a major greenhouse gases emitter. I am pleased seeing TUL in yet another partnership that demonstrates our efforts towards the implementation of the European Green Deal in a closed-loop bioeconomy.’
