Flex is another company with a presence in the Business Zone, the new headquarters of the Department of Organization and Management. This time, it was not a lecture hall that was set up, but a computer room. More importantly, Flex has provided the drives not only for the devices in this room, but also for several dozen other computers where high-speed computing capability is required.

In the foreseeable future, the company will support the development of a laboratory related to the organization of workstations and simulations of various types of production, providing adequate equipment, and actively contributing to the training process by organizing study visits and workshops for students, as well as suggesting problems suitable for the completion of theses.

The building already features rooms sponsored by several of the Faculty's partners, and further ones are in the process of being designed. Companies are keen to make their brand visible to students right from when they start their degree programs. For the Faculty, this is also an important part of building knowledge about companies' activities, their business profile and needs, both in terms of their growth as well as their human capital.

The leadership of Flex visited the Faculty to have a look at the completed room. The meeting was attended by Krzysztof Żukowski - General Manager, Michal Krzysztofik - HR Manager - Business Partner, and Magdalena Dubas - Manager of Program Management Department, who happens to have graduated from the OiZ Faculty with a degree in Management and Production Engineering.

'This marks the beginning of the next phase of our cooperation, we are looking forward to continuing to help as much as we can,' said the General Manager.

The training provided to students is highly consistent with the business profile of Flex, where many OiZ graduates go on to work, which is why the talks held at the office of Dean Professor Agnieszka Zakrzewska-Bielawska concerned more detailed plans for further activities. That is not to say the previous ones are less significant. After all, in the not-so-distant past, the faculty's staff and students carried out several management-related projects for the company that were quite exceptional at the time, including the second in Poland implementation of a system compliant with ISO 28000 (security management in the supply chain) and one of the first in Poland and Europe AEO implementations, i.e., the process toward achieving the status of an authorized economic operator.

Flex is a global corporation that works with a range of industries supporting their business operations. In Poland, the company is based in Lodz, where it has a regional logistics center, and in Tczew, where the manufacturing plant is located. It provides services to three major clients. For the past 15 years, it has been Dell, for which it provides inbound supply chain logistics services. The second client is Philips. In this case, packaging and logistics is carried out for a few products, albeit yielding a total of more than 20 million units per year. A similar cooperation model applies to Jabra, which manufactures headphones. - Our current business model related to packaging is undergoing a transformation," said Krzysztof Żukowski, stressing that in tackling this challenge he is looking forward to collaboration with the Faculty of OiZ and other TUL units.
