The Rector, prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, said,

This session of the TUL Senate is special. The Senate has not convened to deliberate on matters concerning the tasks at hand and recent achievements of the university. It has convened to celebrate those who, over the years, unquestionably contributed to those successes, to express our appreciation to the best among our students and alumni, to give an opportunity to our partners to present their awards to the best of our graduates and, by doing so, acknowledge the high standards of their education.

The audience included nearly 200 individuals, both younger and somewhat older, for whom to be presented with a decoration, medal or award was certainly a source of great satisfaction.

Deputy Voivode of Łódź, dr Marcin Buchali, who attended the event, stated,

'The employees decorated today are the successors of the great academic traditions of Lodz University of Technology, and their continued effort to uphold them is what has put Lodz University of Technology at the top of both Polish as well as global rankings.
