The conference was organized in cooperation with the SustDesignTex and GreenTex project groups and the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Łódź Institute of Technology.
SustDesignTex
SustDesignTex, the full name of which is The SUStainable Industrial DESIGN of TEXtile Structures for Composites project is a Twinning project funded from the EU Framerwork Program Horizon Europe. It primarily aims to achieve long-term strategic partnership in the domain of industrial design of innovative textile structures for composites. Lodz University of Technology serves as the project coordinator, while the following partners from the EU are the project leads: University of Borås (Sweden), Institut für Textiltechnik at RWTH Aachen University (Germany), University of Zaragoza (Spain). The Polish company Wademekum also participates in the efforts.
Greentex
Greentex, on the other hand, is an educational project funded by Erasmus Plus. Its goal is to close the knowledge gap in the field of sustainable textile design. More specifically, it is intended to foster students' awareness of this topic. The materials designed for that purpose show approaches and opportunities that can be useful in education and in business when envisioning and advancing models of sustainability in textiles. Lodz University of Technology, the project coordinator, works along with Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Zagreb (Croatia), University of Aveiro (Portugal), Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic).
Inspiring discussions
The InnovaTex2023 conference provided a forum to discuss the latest advances in textile technology in view of issues related to the sustainability of textile products and processes. In their inspiring presentations, the panelists presented breakthrough developments expected to help shape the future of the textile sector.
Another function of the conference was to further international cooperation. If sustainability is to be achieved, a unified approach must be taken, and the event certainly gave the participants an unparalleled opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. It laid the groundwork for future partnerships for innovation in the textile sector.
Green Exhibition, showcasing student projects on green textiles completed during the Summer School in Portugal, accompanied the conference.
