The Faculty of Chemistry has yet again confirmed its leading position in the European research and higher education. In addition to the KAUT-EUR-ACE® Label and HCERES (Haut Conseil de l'évaluation de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur) accreditations that it already holds, it has now been awarded further ones.

Two of our degree programs, namely Chemistry and Chemical Technology, have been awarded international quality labels by the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN). Chemistry now boasts the Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® labels, awarded to the first-cycle and the second-cycle programs respectively. The third award, the Euromaster®, was granted to the second-cycle program in Chemical Technology. This is good news to all those students who started their studies in October last year as, upon graduation, they will be issued diploma supplements showing this international label of quality’ prof. Małgorzata I. Szynkowska-Jóźwik, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, explained.

The ECTN Label Committee, in communicating the award of the labels applied for by the Faculty, recognized the high standards of education

‘When designing the curriculum, we take great care to closely link it with the research we conduct, and that is of world-class standard. With many international contacts, we also provide students with opportunities to benefit from them, so that they can build their research careers from this stage on’ prof. Szynkowska-Jóźwik pointed out.

The ETCN Label Committee did not formulate any recommendations for any corrective actions, and the accreditation was thus granted for the maximum period of six years.

The accrediting body, the European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTN), is a non-profit organization registered in Belgium. The network currently has more than 120 members (universities, national chemical associations and chemical companies) from 30 different countries and has associate members all over the world.

The accreditation process was made possible owing to the funding provided by MEiN under the non-competitive call 'International Accreditation' within framework of the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
