I do not feel quite content with the result - we would like to rank higher. Nevertheless, as a university aspiring for the title of a research university, Lodz University of Technology still ranks well. Of course we have to work on accelerating the development. We've got a slightly better position compared to last year’s result in the categories of prestige, research potential or research productivity, but we have to speed up more, because it is not minor changes that we are interested in . I would like to thank the members of Lodz University of Technology academic community who make great efforts to place our university among the best - said the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik after receiving the diploma at the result release ceremony.

This year two new indicators were added: participation in the "European University” and universities' contributions to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - so there are now 29 indicators.

The ranking also featured fields of study. Most of the faculties evaluated at Lodz University of Technology ranked 6th  or 7th. The highest ranking was given to biotechnology, which moved up to 3rd  position. Moreover, the following majors improved their rankings: Mechanical Engineering and and Management and Production Engineering.
