The cooperation of Lodz University of Technology with a global industrial partner - ZME EMIT S.A., which is part of the Cantoni Group - opens the door for implementing specially dedicated grants from the National Centre for Research and Development or the European Union.

The contract concluded (December 7) between the Rector of Lodz University of Technology - Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik and the President of the Management Board - Włodzimierz Kęsicki, will enable the establishment of the Research and Development Centre of ZME EMIT on the premises of Lodz University of Technology.

The implementation work carried out at the Centre will mainly concern the areas of research conducted at the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems, the Institute of Automation and the Institute of Power Engineering - units from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, and the Institute of Turbomachinery from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Thanks to the Centre, ZME EMIT will gain an additional development incentive that will allow it to effectively compete on the demanding international market of electrical devices, including electrical machines. Lodz University of Technology staff will support the company in the improvement and development of its products, in particular in the design of modern energy-saving electrical machines. Partners are engaged in talks, for example, about projects related to the High Speed Railway.

The establishment of the Research and Development Centre of ZME EMIT SA is fully supported by its owner, the Cantoni Group, which has 70 percent share in the Polish market of electric motors. The group is one of the largest European manufacturers of electrical machines and technologically advanced drives used in all segments of industry.

The educational benefit for TUL is enabling students of selected fields of study to learn about modern technologies and products of the company in the course of internships, projects and diploma theses. The partners are also interested in the implementation doctorates.
