The Rector’s scholarship for students in the first year of first-cycle studies at TUL may be awarded only to a student admitted to the first year of study in the year of passing a secondary school leaving exam who meets the following conditions:
- is a laureate of an international Olympiad or a laureate or finalist of the Central Olympiad referred to in the rules on the educational system or
- who is the current medallist of the competition for the title of Polish Champion in a given sport at least, referred to in the sport regulations.
The Rector's Scholarship for students may be awarded to a student who has outstanding academic performance in the previous academic year, has scientific or artistic achievements or sports accomplishments in competitions at least at the national level.
The list of scored achievements are included in Appendix no. 1 to the Regulations on Student Benefits of Lodz University of Technology.
Scholarships are awarded within the so-called ranking groups. The independent ranking group consists of:
a) students of the organizational unit providing education, studying in the same field and the same modes (full-time and part-time studies);
b) students pursuing studies at the International Faculty of Engineering, studying in the same field;
c) students at the first semester of second-cycle studies of the organizational unit pursuing education, studying in the same field and the same modes (full-time and part-time studies);
d) students admitted from the summer semester who completed 1st semester of studies in the organizational unit providing education, studying in the same field and the same modes (full-time and part-time studies).
Scholarships are awarded to a maximum of 10% of the best students of a given field who received the highest number of points in their ranking group, but not less than the point threshold set in a separate Announcement of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs on the amount of individual types of benefits.
The scholarship is awarded for the academic year.
The amount of the Rector's scholarship at TUL:
- The amount of the scholarship may be composed of two parts: the basic amount and the amount of the scholarship increase. The value of the base amount is fixed for all scholarships and is independent of the number of ranking points and place on the ranking list.
- The scholarship increase is available at the university to scholarship recipients who have been awarded the Rector's scholarship for the best students and who have obtained one of the two highest ranking points in a given field of study (within the basic organizational unit/IFE).
- Scholarship amounts for students in the 2nd year and above of first-cycle studies and students in all years of second-cycle studies:
(a) basic - PLN 900 per month;
b) increase - 500 PLN per month.
- Scholarship amounts for students in the 1st year of first-cycle studies, laureates of international olympiads or laureates or finalists of olympiads of the central level, referred to in the education regulations on the system of olympiads:
a) PLN 1,400 per month if the profile of the Olympiad is in the field of science and natural sciences or in the field of technical and engineering sciences and in the case of study fields conducted at the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering and majors: Business and Technology, Business Studies and Gestion et Technologie conducted at the International Faculty of Engineering also in the field of social sciences;
b) PLN 900 per month if the profile of the Olympiad is different from that listed in point a.
- The amount of the scholarship for 1st year students of first-cycle studies, medallists of the sports competition for the title of Polish Champion in a given sport at least, as referred to in the sports regulations, is PLN 900 per month.
Application submission:
Applications for the rector's scholarship should be printed via the webdziekanat and submitted to the Benefits Services Office (hereafter referred to as the BS) with the necessary attachments as follows:
a) placing the application into the drop boxes - Building A33, staircase E;
b) personal submission of the required documentation in the Benefits Services Office TUL - Building A33, staircase E, 4th floor;
c) sending to the electronic inbox of Lodz University of Technology on the ePUAP platform: /Politlodz/SkrytkaESP signed with an electronic signature (signature confirmed by a trusted profile or qualified electronic signature,) a file (or each of the files) containing a scan or photo of the original of the completed and signed application and scans or photos of all required documents (certificates, statements, etc.);
d) sending via the Polish Post a consignment containing the originals of the aforementioned documents to the following address: Benefits Services Office TUL, at ul. Żeromskiego 116, 90-924 Łódź;
Students of the 1st year of first-cycle studies complete the application for the aforementioned scholarship attached below and submit it to the Benefits Services Office TUL in October. Detailed rules for awarding a rector's scholarship, the amount of individual scholarships and the deadlines and method of applying for scholarships can be found on the website.
