Professor Bolesław Konorski was born in Lodz on 14 April 1892. He began his studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1911, and he continued his education at Vienna University of Technology. In 1945 he began working at Lodz University of Technology, which was then being established, helping to establish, among other things, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He became associate professor in 1946, and he completed his doctoral studies in 1947. He was awarded the title of full professor in 1956.

Important functions:

  • at the University: Rector of Lodz University of Technology (1952-1953), Vice-Rector (1948-1952);
  • outside the University: under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Higher Education, member of the Scientific Council in the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, member of Lodz Scientific Association, co-founder and honorary member of Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electronics, member of the Central Classification Commission (1952-1957).
