Professor Czesław Strumiłło was born in Vilnius on 17 February 1930. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology in 1952. He obtained the Doctor of Science degree and post-doctoral degree (habilitation) 1961 and 1966 respectively. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1974 and he became full professor in 1981. 
Important functions:

  • at the University: Rector of Lodz University of Technology (1987-1990), Vice-Rector for Science (1984-1987), Dean of the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering (1993-2000);
  • outside the University: member of Lodz Scientific Association (1984), member of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Chemical Industry (1962), chairperson of StipChem to Drying Working Party (1987-1988), chairperson of the Committee of Chemical and Process Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2002), president of the Polish Drying Association (2002), vice-president of Lodz Division of the Polish Academy of Sciences, member of the Council of the Foundation for Polish Science (1993-1996), expert of the Minister of National Education (1990-1995).
