Professor Jan Krysiński Rector of Lodz University of Technology in the years 1990-1996 and 2002-2005

Professor Jan Krysiński was born in Warsaw on 29 August 1935. He received his MSc Eng. degree in the specialisation Power Engineering Machines and Installations in 1957. 
He has been working at Lodz University of Technology since 1956, first in the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, and in the Institute of Turbomachinery since 1970. He completed his doctoral and post-doctoral studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology in 1965 and 1974 respectively. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1980 and he became full professor in 1992.

Important functions:

  • at the University: Rector of Lodz University of Technology (1990-1996, 2002-2005), Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (1987-1990).
  • outside the University: chairperson of the Conference of Rectors of State Universities in Lodz Conference of Rectors of State Universities in Lodz (2002-2005), chairperson of the Section of Universities of Technology of the General Council for Higher Education (1997-2000), coordinator of Polish participation in the work of the energy roundtable organised by UNESCO in Paris (1992-1995), chairperson of the Consultative Council for acquiring European funds at the Marshal of the Lodz Province Regional Assembly (2001).
