Professor Józef Mayer Rector of Lodz University of Technology between 1996 and 2002
Professor Józef Mayer was born on 21 May 1939. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Lodz University of Technology in 1961 and began working as assistant lecturer in the Department of Physical Chemistry, and in 1962 he moved to the Department of Radiation Chemistry. Professor Mayer obtained the doctoral degree and post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in 1968 and 1978 respectively. He was awarded the title of professor in 1988, and he became full professor in 1995.
