Professor Mieczysław Klimek was born in Pabianice on 28 October 1913. He graduated from Warsaw University of Technology, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1939. In 1946 he began working at Lodz University of Technology where, among other things, he took an active part in the creation of the Faculty of Textile Engineering. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1954 and he became full professor in 1963. 

Important functions:

  • at the University: Rector of Lodz University of Technology (1953-1962);
  • outside the University: member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Textile Engineering and the General Council for Higher Education; co-founder of The Association of Textile Engineers and Technologists; honorary member of the Polish Textile Association.
