Open competition for participation in the project „Chiral nanocomposites with tunable optical properties for more efficient printed optoelectronic devices” financed in frame of the First Team FENG programme by the FNP Foundation for Polish Science

THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET BY THE CANDIDATE:
•    The candidates should have completed their PhD in one of the following disciplines: materials science, physics, chemistry, or related (PhD degree should be granted not longer than 7 years prior to the project commencement, with exceptions described in the regulations of the First Team FENG Call 1/2025 );
•    Scientific achievements in the project's thematic area (organic and printed electronics, organic optical and chiroptical materials) documented by publications in reputable journals;
•    Research experience in materials chemistry, organic optoelectronics, optical spectroscopy of organic semiconductors, and/or printed electronics;
•    Knowledge of photophysical phenomena occurring in organic semiconductors and proficiency in optical spectroscopy methods: absorption and photoluminescence measurements in the UV-Vis-NIR range (knowledge of time-resolved spectroscopy will be an additional asset);
•    Expertise in the study of morphology and structure of thin organic layers (AFM and scanning probe microscopy, electron microscopy, or X-ray methods);
•    Experience in the fabrication and analysis of thin-film devices, particularly organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs);
•    Knowledge and experience in chiroptical spectroscopy (CD spectroscopy, CPL spectroscopy) and/or advanced solution-based thin film fabrication methods (e.g., inkjet, e-jet printing methods) will be an advantage;
•    Fluency in English, both spoken and written, sufficient for independent research;
•    High level of commitment and independence in research;
•    Teamwork skills: ability to transfer knowledge and work with students.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
•    Gross monthly salary of ~10 800,00 -12 000,00 PLN;

•    Full public health insurance, a package of social benefits for Lodz University of Technology employees (including FitProfit/FitSport sports card);
•    Career development opportunities: Working in a young, dynamically developing team, access to unique research infrastructure. During the project, there is the opportunity to complete an internship with one of the foreign partners.

SCOPE OF WORK:
•    This position will involve working on a research project aimed at developing new emissive materials in the form of organic nanocomposites for advanced OLED devices manufactured using printing methods.
•    A key aspect of the work will consist of selection of optically compatible dyes for the donor-acceptor system and its further optimization (incl. concentration, component ratio, solvent used) to ensure the desired optical properties of the material in thin films (i.e. emission wavelength, dissymmetry factor) and processability using printing methods.
