1. Candidate Requirements:
• The candidate should hold a PhD degree in the field of exact and natural sciences
• have more than four years of scientific experience
• have authored or co-authored at least five articles published in JCR-indexed scientific journals within the last five years
• have experience in conducting numerical studies related to the simulation of physical phenomena in photonic and/or optoelectronic devices, with programming skills in Python and experience with
visualization data software considered an additional asset
2. Employment Conditions:
• Recruitment for Assistant positions within project no. FENG.01.01-IP.01-A0ZA/25-00, titled: "A new type of hazardous gas analyzer based on photonic and optoelectronic components ". Project under the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) TEAM NET FENG program (Action 2.3 TEAM NET).
• Employment type: full-time employment contract for a fixed term – for the duration of the project.
• Base salary: 7,070 PLN gross.
• Expected start date: June 8, 2026.
3. Description of Expected Tasks and Responsibilities for the Two Positions:
An Assistant researcher with experience in semiconductor device physics and numerical modeling will be employed. The candidate is expected to have experience in conducting numerical simulations using computational packages such as PLaSK, RPSMES, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret experimental and simulation results. The candidate should be able to prepare scientific reports and present research results publicly in English, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Throughout all stages of the project, the Assistant researcher will be involved in activities related to the design of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers.
Planned employment in the FENG.01.01 SMART Path project led by Prof. Tomasz Czyszanowski, PhD, DSc, Eng.
