The educational leadership training track, offered within the advanced program, was delivered by the University of Groningen academics – Groningen being one of the leading universities in the world. The training was attended by dr inż. Anna Klepacz-Smółka, Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Process Engineering and Environmental Protection, dr Dorota Gryglik of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, and dr inż. Przemysław Sękalski, Head of the Information Technology Centre (CTI).
‘We explored how to stimulate students to become curious and learn new skills and how to make tutoring more attractive. One of the many suggestions was to increase students' activity and engagement already in the phase of the preparation for their classes, even before they start, so that they could use mobile devices in class, and to encourage them to use software applications and modern IT tools that allow the tutor and the learner to interact during the classes, where they can ask and answer questions’ dr in Przemysław Sękalski, Head of CTI said.
The training participants learnt how the teaching process is carried out at other universities. The model of tutoring that has been adopted at Lodz University of Technology best meets the needs of a technical university. The final outcome of the project, which has been scheduled for September 2023, will consist in the implementation of the curricula designed by the tutors. In the future these curricula will be further improved to cater for the needs of the learners and the job market even better.
