They have collaborated since 2005, organizing exhibitions, gatherings, plein-air workshops, and contributing to the cultural life of Łódź. Apart from group exhibitions, often themed, the artists do individual work and exhibits. For a number of years, the collective also ran art workshops for adolescents with disabilities, held at the ZHP Training and Recreation Center in Załęcze Wielkie.
The artwork shown at the Politechnika Art Gallery portrays artistic personality of each artist of the PlusMinus collective, their individual approach to art, and idiosyncrasies of their personalities.
Maria Kępińska, art critic, referring to the photograph featuring each member of the collective with the first letter of their name for a caption, writes ‘The artists of the PlusMinus collective address the issue of the close relationship between an artwork and its creator by considering the essence of the inalienable right to identify the creator's personality with the individual qualities and aesthetic values that define the originality of their creations. The use of the first letter of their first name as a visual signifier denoting their contribution to the collective and the realization of the works presented in the exhibition suggests that the letter - a graphic representation of the sound - continues to hold value both as an identifier and signifier as well as as an artistic creation.’
The PlusMinus collective are: Barbara Cuper-Zbierska, Barbara Czerwińska, Elżbieta Dmowska-Sawczuk, Urszula Klechta, Izabella Klinger, Grażyna Margiel, Hanna Mróz-Witaszek, Maria Sadowska, Małgorzata Stopczyńska, and Katarzyna Zbierska-Michalak.
