The intention of the organizer of the competition, the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Program and the European Solidarity Corps, was to identify Polish universities that are most dynamically engaged in international partnerships of European universities.
TUL Rector, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, stated,
‘The Erasmus+ Excellence Award is a distinction that we are very pleased with. The Award Jury acknowledged the way in which we had been successfully deploying European funds across all the areas. With them we have been improving our teaching and learning, building our capacity, strengthening academic mobility, physical education, as well as aid projects for Ukraine. The award is the crowning moment for our involvement in the activities of the ECIU University, the first European University formed by a network of 14 innovative universities. We participate in two of the five educational programs announced by the EC, in one of which we represent the ECIU University.
The European Universities - Alliances of the Future awards were conferred in the following five areas: personality, innovation, cooperation with the socio-economic environment, Erasmus+ excellence, and support for Ukraine. Lodz University of Technology was nominated, as were four other universities, in two further areas (apart from Erasmus+ excellence): cooperation with the socio-economic environment and support for Ukraine.
