A delegation from Longdong University visited Lodz University of Technology on 18 December 2025. The visit took place at the International Cooperation Centre and the Rector’s Office. The highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), forming the basis for a long-term partnership between the two institutions. The document was signed by Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of TUL, and President Liu Wanfeng on behalf of Longdong University.
During the meeting with our Chinese partners, we discussed student and academic staff exchange programmes as well as opportunities for joint research projects. We also identified areas of shared academic interest that will help us better direct future cooperation, the Rector emphasised.
The authorities of Lodz University of Technology plan to introduce a new format of cooperation with Chinese universities, based on a more European model. Both partners assume that the exchange of academic staff, students, and educational and research resources will bring mutual benefits.
According to Prof. Dorota Piotrowska, Director of the International Cooperation Centre, students eagerly look forward to opportunities for engagement with countries outside Europe, which for many has become too narrow a perspective. They wish to develop their competences and gain experience also in Asia. This direction is attractive not only for Chinese students, but also for our own, she said.
Initially, the exchange will have a pilot character and involve around 10–15 students, allowing the partners to become better acquainted. Ultimately, the scope of collaboration is expected to expand to approximately 50 students per year.
