The beach soccer teams were divided into three groups, with a total of 12 teams from across Europe. Poland was placed in Group C alongside Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Denmark. The Polish team began their campaign with a strong 4:1 victory against Denmark, where Grzegorz Brochocki scored the opening goal and later added another.
In the second Group C match, Poland faced the Czech Republic. The game ended in a draw after both regular time and overtime, leading to a penalty shootout, where the Czechs triumphed 5-3. Next, Poland lost a thrilling 4:6 game to Portugal, despite leading 2:0 early on with goals from Brochocki and Patryk Pietrasiak.
Following a narrow 2:3 loss to Spain, the Polish team played for 7th place, where they emerged victorious with a 4:3 win against Estonia.
Next, the Polish national team will compete for World Championship qualification. ‘We are rooting for Grzegorz and the team's continued success’, said dr Ewa Brochocka, director of the Lodz University of Technology Sports Center, expressing her delight at the achievements of their student.
