The classification prepared by the Institute of Informatics of the Middle East Technical University in Turkey considered 3,000 universities, including 56 from Poland. The best ranked was Jagiellonian University (343rd), followed by the University of Warsaw (506th), and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (680th). Lodz University of Technology ranked 1051st, notching up five places and finishing 13th in Poland.
As in the previous editions, Harvard University (USA), the University of Toronto (Canada), and University College London (UK) took the top three spots.
URAP 2023-2024 relies on 6 indicators which focus on the academic performance of universities. The key criterion is publications both in terms of their quality as well as their number. The second most important gauge is the impact of international research collaborations.
