Yet again, Elsevier has released on its website October 2023 data-update for 'Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators'. 42 researchers affiliated with Lodz University of Technology are featured in this publicly available database of top-cited scientists.

Compiled by Stanford University, the database ranks the names of the top 2% of researchers whose publications have had the highest impact on other authors. The database provides information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score), with the last one indicative of impact rather than productivity (number of publications).

Two sets of the most cited researchers from around the world have been released, separately for career-long data (featuring 29 researchers from TUL) and for the recent year (featuring 30 researchers from TUL).

- I would like to congratulate all the scientists who were among the elite group of the best-cited authors of publications placed in prestigious journals. I am glad that every year this number is higher. The number of citations speaks about the recognition in the world, about the groundbreaking theses contained in the publication, so I feel satisfaction that our researchers and researchers have a significant impact and contribute to the global development of science - says Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik.

The following are TUL-affiliated researchers with the highest number of citations in 2022:
