The finals of the 12th and 13th Team Game Development Competition will be held on 24-25 June 2021. The competition studio will be located in the spaces of the Institute of Physics at Lodz University of Technology, and the competition will be held via the Discord platform and streamed on YouTube.

Students from all over Poland will present their original prototypes of computer games, VR experiences and artistic works during the double final of the Polish Team Game Development Competition organised by the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics at TUL.

According to Assoc. Prof. Eng. Rafał Szrajber, representative of the organisers:

We would like to invite you to share with the students the passion of creating games, solutions for virtual environments and artistic activities. The presentation of games, playing and evaluating projects as part of the final, combining the works from 2020 and 2021, has taken a hybrid form, where the jury evaluates student projects remotely in the competition studio located at Lodz University of Technology.

The competition is an opportunity for experienced game developers not only to support young talents and share their knowledge, but also to create the future and the development direction of education and research in the games industry in Poland together with the whole community. In accordance with the idea of the competition, the teams will present original ideas for computer games, VR experiences and artistic works, and the jury will verify to what extent the participants managed to fulfil the roles and competences necessary to create high-budget games, modern technological solutions or outstanding design and artistic works in the future.

The main organiser of the event is the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics at TUL, together with its university partner: Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. The final of the competition is planned in the formula of 7 thematic tracks: Game Design, Game Development, Mobile Games, Virtual Environment, along with its inseparable element which is the Game Graphics Contest with categories: Character Design, Environment Design, Asset Design.

We hope that, as in previous years, together we will be able to host such a large number of students, companies and professionals - both in the competition studio and in the virtual space. The competition is a unique forum in Poland, bringing together lecturers, students, school students and companies associated with the creative industry. The winners and runners-up will receive numerous prizes funded by the companies.
